Who the...?

ROCKTAPUS! are (with more posts to come!):

Tim 'Cap'n Castanets' Pearce(baritone)
Pearce by name, pierce by nature. This man’s gaze will have you stunned like a groupie in the headlights of an Aerosmith tour bus. Yet his graceful flamenco moves will penetrate the depths of your very being, making even the hardest of hearts weep salty, salty tears and exclaim 'Aye-aye Cap'n Castanets! Take me, take me now!'.

Q. Why do you love ROCKTAPUS!? Like me, it was born to be crazy but hugely good at the same time.
Q. What was the first album you ever bought? After searching through the aging vinyls, 'Diamond Dogs', David Bowie
Q. A music event that changed your life (e.g. concert, hearing something) Sergeant Pepper's appearing in the house when I was six years old, especially "Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite"
Q. If you were a song, it would be… Running Up the Hill, Kate Bush.
Q. All real rock stars are addicted to something, what’s your addiction? Trying to stay in the first buzz forever; doesn't matter what it is.
Q. What's your Air instrument of choice, and which song inspires you to air play it? Probably bass if I think about it, anything with a great groove.
Q. What's your all time favourite karaoke song and why? First saw karaoke in a bar in chinatown in '84 and it was just too weird; still is.
Q. What's your ambition for ROCKTAPUS!? For the group to be completely mad, live the songs and still be completely on top of the music.

Otmar 'Edelweiss' Messner (bass singer)
Having fled the Nazi regime in Austria, Otmar remains the only surviving member of the Von Trapp Family Singers. With only a sprig of edelweiss pinned to his dungarees and a schnitzel sandwich in hand, little Otmar made his way to Australia on foot arriving 25 years later. Not having enough 'oomph' to continue on to New Zealand, here he remains.
He likes butterflies and long walks in the wilderness.

Q. Why do you love ROCKTAPUS!? 'Cause it rocks!
Q. What was the first album you ever bought? Jethro Tull, Aqualung
Q. A music event that changed your life (e.g. concert, hearing something)
Listening to the Nuclear Blues album from Blood, Sweat & Tears
Q. If you were a song, it would be… dynamite
Q. All real rock stars are addicted to something, what’s your addiction? Chocolate
Q. What's your Air instrument of choice, and which song inspires you to air play it? Slap bass – “Pow” by Gram Central Station
Q. What's your all time favourite karaoke song and why? Mustang Sally – cause I can’t sing it the way I like it!
Q. What's your ambition for ROCKTAPUS!? To fly to our next gig in our own private jet.

Laser Fandango - Badass Bass Singer (aka Steve Coupe)
By day he's known as 'The Puppetman'. In-between gigs he's a formidable guitarist (three-dimensional, not just air-guitar) and sometimes he sings with that other choir. But at night, on public holidays and during all things ROCKTAPUS!, he's the man with the fingers of 'Rocktitude'; i give you Laser Fandango.
Q: Why do you love ROCKTAPUS!? Define "love" - I'm addicted to doing silly things in public
Q: What was the first album you ever bought?
Are you supposed to buy albums? - I've only ever liberated them
Q: What's a music event that changed your life (e.g. concert, hearing something) My life's great goals were revealed to me when I saw Alice Cooper bite the head off a live chicken on stage.
Steve as a baby -
A warning to all mothers.
Q: If you were a song, it would be… "Sympathy For The Devil" - Rolling Stones
Q: All real rock stars are addicted to something, what’s your addiction? Biographies of Josef Stalin
Q: What's your Air instrument of choice, and which song inspires you to air play it? Guillotine - anything with a (choppy) 2 - 4 back beat
Q: What's your all time favourite karaoke song and why?
Is karaoke a song?, I thought it was some weird Burmese fish
Q: What's your ambition for ROCKTAPUS!? To rule Glebe and parts of Annandale
